Compared with other operating links in industrial and agricultural production, the energy conservation and pollution prevention tasks of the drying process are particularly urgent. First of all, the drying operation involves a wide range of fields, and China's drying energy consumption accounts for almost half of the total industrial energy consumption, reaching 12%. Secondly, drying also pollutes the environment quite seriously. Among the most widely used conventional drying equipment, more than three-quarters are hot air drying. This type of drying equipment is very polluting to the environment. The transformation of the coal-fired furnace of the spray dryer drying system has become an important issue that needs to be solved urgently.

Improving the energy utilization efficiency of the drying process and preventing and controlling environmental pollution are complementary. Reducing the energy consumption of 100 million tons of standard coal can reduce the emission of more than 64 million tons of CO2 and SO2 in China, and its environmental protection benefits are very significant. Therefore, when exploring a new development path for drying technology, it is necessary to comprehensively consider energy efficiency, environmental protection and product quality in order to achieve comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development.

To implement the development strategy of efficient and green drying, we must first take the path of resource-saving development and change the single extensive drying to combined and intelligent drying. Not only must we make fundamental changes in the drying process, but the belt dryer must also undergo comprehensive and multi-level energy-saving technology transformation, and vigorously develop drying technology that uses renewable energy and industrial waste heat. From the government level, we must establish and improve comprehensive evaluation criteria and industry standards for drying equipment, establish macro-control and market regulation mechanisms, and accelerate the renewal of drying technology.
